Today, I want to talk about why I am grateful for living in a refugee camp and to share a personal story in hope that it will inspire and help you put things into perspective. I try very hard not to watch the news, however, the refugee crisis in Europe is so talked about that I inevitable get asked about my experience.

While I hope you never go through the same thing I did, I hope that you can learn from me and put things in perspective. I am forever grateful for my life circumstances, as horrible as they may have been. I hope I can show you that every misfortune can be used as a lesson and a blessing of some sort.

When I was nine years old, war started in my native country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I ended up in a refugee camp. For years, I felt sorry for myself but then I realized what a blessing it was. With this refugee crisis permeating our lives, I wanted to share my story and see if we could find something good in it. Here’s why I am so grateful for having lived in a refugee camp. Please share if you know of anyone who would appreciate the message.

Much love to you all,

Jasna
