Why I am grateful for living in a refugee camp
While I hope you never go through the same thing I did, I hope that you can learn from me and put things in perspective. I am forever grateful for my life circumstances, as horrible as they may have been. I hope I can show you that every misfortune can be used as a lesson and a blessing of some sort.
When I was nine years old, war started in my native country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I ended up in a refugee camp. For years, I felt sorry for myself but then I realized what a blessing it was. With this refugee crisis permeating our lives, I wanted to share my story and see if we could find something good in it. Here’s why I am so grateful for having lived in a refugee camp.
