Interview with a witch
I started following her teachings after she started calling herself a witch and that word triggered me. I mean, I had a reaction to it and I couldn’t explain why but it made me feel very uncomfortable. Little did I know that Portia would later explain precisely why I was triggered and not just with that word but with any other word (or person) that has the same effect on me. This tidbit alone is mindblowing so listen for when she talks about clear mirrors and smoky mirrors if you feel triggered by certain people or expressions on social media (another one of my “trigger” words is “bada$$” – I see so many of fine women using and for years, it would make my stomach churn).
Portia has very visible presence in our community and is here to serve. In our conversation, she addresses trauma, healing crisis, and why we all feel a sense of chaos all around us. We also discuss racism, feminism, ancestors, why we have to “feel it to heal it”…..Lastly, we discuss how to honor our bodies and listen to what they are telling us versus punishing them.
The word I have always had for Portia is respect and I always felt attracted to her words and teachings even if they didn’t always feel right. This interview is one of the most insightful conversations I have had recently. Please watch and see how it affects you. And if you feel compelled to go see her, I can’t recommend that enough. I am on a journey of finding people who know what they are doing and are doing it with conviction, all while wanting to heal and make an impact on this world. Watch and be blown away.
