Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
Do you ever look at certain people and think, wow, how could they do it? Well, we’re gonna go a little deeper into that today. And today’s Sunday check in life coach, your snowboarder talks to us about the Habits of Highly Successful People. Thank you for being back with us.
Jasna Burza
Thank you for having me.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
I know that we’ve had a theme as we’ve been talking for the past month about goals, you know, visions, things like that. But let’s talk about people who are successful.
Jasna Burza
One of my favorite topics ever, everyone wants to be more successful in life, almost everyone. So let’s just really quickly before you and I continue, define what successful means in our terms of conversation very often refers to fame, money, in monetary ways. But I think successful person is a person who was happy in life and work and they’re very satisfying personal life. So with that said, there are some things that are common traits that I observe in the people that I work with people whose book books I read, etc. So as
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
you work with a lot of people who are CEOs who are in leadership positions, what is kind of the correlation of these successful people.
Jasna Burza
So here’s a few You saw, right? Number one, they actually visualize where they’re going, you and I have done a visualization segment. And I really suggest that people go and check that out. But they know where they’re going very often they have a clear picture about what it is that they want. So I suggest everyone listening, get a piece of paper, your vision board and get very clear on what is it that you want. So that’s number one, okay? Number two, they make mental physical, emotional health a priority. They know that this is a temple that needs to be taken care of, so that we can actually give birth to our ideas and succeed in life and give back of ourselves so incredibly important to take care of all aspects of our well being and health. Number three, they invest in their mental sharpness. So this is something that I they keenly observe people do. They’re constantly learning they’re observing. They’re hiring coaches, mentors, trainings, but also audio books. We live in the world of podcasts, we live in a world where we can actually tune in something while we’re washing dishes. What is it that you listen to and who you surround yourself is incredibly important. So what you listen, and how you invest in yourself in terms of mental sharpness, and also the group of people that you surround yourself with? I know you and I have talked about this, and how incredibly important it is to do just that.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
Yeah, absolutely. And that is interesting, too. Because I mean, there’s a limited amount of time, how do you do more with less time. So
Jasna Burza
incredibly, well put people successful people do more with less time because they prioritize, they practice something called essentialism. So they don’t try to do everything at the same time. And they say what is the most urgent and then what is the most important and then they do what’s important to do that, that day, that minute, they execute, and they also delegate, knowing that they can possibly do everything at the same time,
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
it’s important to take time alone or away from the grind, right?
Jasna Burza
Probably the most important, a genius and a mystic Walter Russell talks about the all of the most successful people in the world, take time alone, very often when or how busy the lives are, we don’t have time for that. So get a half an hour early. You don’t have to be part of the forum public you and I know your afford am cover. But you can get out half an hour before your children before your spouse, or maybe go for lunch alone or go to bed before you go to bed journal spend sometimes communing with nature, finding ways to connect with the genius that I firmly believe exists in every single human alive.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
I believe it to yours. Now, I love that. And then lastly, I just want to ask you about when we don’t check off our list that can be really discouraging feeling.
Jasna Burza
Well, what a timely question or a question for me, because I’m coming on the heels of probably one of the worst weeks in work of in the last 10 years. So things did not go well. And I think that sometimes the way we observe successful people, they don’t dwell of what didn’t go well. They acknowledge it. And they say, What can we do differently? What can we figure out but they keep the emotions out of it. And they make lemonade with what’s right in front of them and they handle it with grace. And if I may say I’m taking my own medicine, right? Oh, no,
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
I’m proud of you. I see it. Thank you for taking that medicine and sharing it with us. Thank you so much.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
is more accessible than ever. It’s something that takes work, but I believe it’s Oh, so worth it. Here’s a life coach Jana Borzoi. On the power of self development. Yasmin, good morning.
Jasna Burza
Good morning to those a bit.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
Okay, something I’m pretty passionate about personal development. We see it everywhere right now. But why is it so important?
Jasna Burza
Personal development is the thing that makes us us. It helps us assess our life goals, and really helps us become the best version of ourselves. It helps us to be proactive, take charge of our actions. And it really shows that people who invest in personal development has success and satisfaction in life. And you know, I do believe Warren Buffett Buffett said it I do believe that the greatest investment that we can make is investment in ourselves. And that is personal development continually working on becoming the better version of ourselves.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
And another one big part of it is consuming. There’s so many things out there, but books, podcasts, advice, therapy, all of that.
Jasna Burza
Absolutely. There, there really is, I think we have to determine what we need at the time. But we don’t have to spend a dime. And it’s so readily available, especially today, there is so many incredible trainings and podcasts and books. And I think that if you’re willing, that’s all you need is time.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
And one thing that’s helped me with self awareness, as simple as it sounds, is even Instagram, following people like you, I mean, there’s a lot of people on there giving insightful advice. And like you said, it’s free.
Jasna Burza
It really is because of the social media has, there’s the double edge to it. It’s such a blessing, because we do have access to information. And I think that it does give us a moment of self awareness. Because when we get to know who we are what we want, and when we don’t want, we can design the life based on where we were, what what do we need, and I think that’s such a great, great gift. And I
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
think that’s what this is about right? Is is getting life direction and clarity at the end of the day that comes from personal development.
Jasna Burza
Absolutely. Because when we have clarity about where we’re going, what do we want to do for the the plan for life, decision making becomes a lot easier you say no to things that you know, are not part of that plan and the tasks, they really are so difficult for us. We they just don’t, they’re not as difficult because we know we have a why. And I think that there gives us an incredible focus and clarity, it gives us the motivation. And we become so much better about prioritization. And again, people who invest in themselves and they get to know themselves. There’s an incredible sense of confidence about showing up in the world, which directly relates to self esteem. And then success and productivity in the world that we’ve talked about so much of that on the show. Yeah,
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
I mean, in the end here, it’s worth it to do the work. Oh,
Unknown Speaker
all these My goodness, well, look at the world that we live in right now.
Jasna Burza
So let’s really personal development to the challenges in life. There will be tough times in life and when they when these things occur. When we have taken the time to develop, we will have greater confidence, resilience, personal and interpersonal skills, we will have better relationships and those really make up our life. So I’m such I’m such a big proponent of always working on ourselves, because it’s not just us that we’re happier. But I do believe that we make this world a better place.
Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield
I agree. Thank you so much, Jasmine.
Jasna Burza
Oh, thank you. It’s such a pleasure.
